Dear Clients and Friends:
We have just learned that Indonesian immigration is no longer
allowing extensions for multiple entry business visas
. We know that this will inconvenience many of you and will cost you extra money in travel, but, at present, immigration is giving few options. Things may revert to normal practice in the next weeks or months, as they sometimes do; for now, though, it looks like it's something we all will have to live with for an indefinite period.
For those of you who travel often, it won't change things. You will have free entry and exit, and each entry will get you 60 days in the country

For those of you who usually use one or several of your extensions, the only option is going to be to travel every 60 days
, or to switch to a social visa
-- which also would involve travel. We don't know enough yet to recommend one over the other, but will try to clarify with our immigration contacts whether there is likely to be any relenting in the ban on the business visa extensions.
For the time being, extensions on social visas do not seem to be in doubt, but we will try in the coming days to clarify and confirm that as well .
